L'Anse aux Meadows

Today we drove up the coast to L'Anse aux Meadows to see the historic site of the Norse landing from 1000 years ago. They have recreated a Viking settlement beside the original site and have actors dressed up to reenact what life was like back so long ago. After the visit with the Vinlanders we took a nice walk up the Cape Raven Trail in Straitsview, NFLD. Looking out from the top of the trail you could see dozens of icebergs of all shapes and sizes. At tonight's dinner outing our waitress told us that they had polar bears in the area just three weeks ago.
